We arrive March 21st for a three day layover on our way back to Sevilla.  Cool damp weather, it even snowed a tiny bit one evening.  Stayed in a modest hotel just a few blocks from the main train station.  Small room, but, central to everything, very clean and comfortable.

We walked just about everywhere and got to spend time touring the Palace, Opera House, New Cathedral, Parks and Sophie Reina Art Gallery.  Madrid is a very metropolitan city, with great sites, wonderful food and friendly people.

Clean streets.

The Royal Palace...

View from the Palace.

The Cathedral.

The modern glass windows depicted many women, a first for me.

Where's the bull?

Theater.  Wonder what's playing?

Four Dictators.

A long, long painting.

We tried a vegetarian restaurant near the hotel.  The food was

Opra House by day...
...And night.

Our train station to Saville, by day...

...and by night.
